Tessa Power (born 1984, Ireland) is an artist and filmmaker living and working in London. Power graduated with an MA in Fine Art Media from the Slade School of Fine Art in 2010 and was awarded with the William Coldstream Purchase Prize. Her films have been exhibited in group exhibitions and film programmes in the UK and abroad. Most recently, in December 2014, Power completed the Fathom residency at Four Corners, London. In summer 2013 she participated in Ex-¬Voto, a project by LABA (Athens, Greece) that invited 30 international filmmakers to respond to the discontinuation of Kodak’s Ektachrome film stock. Power’s films, often investigating the subject’s relationship with the natural world and the environment, through unconventional narrative structures to create lyrical, dream-like parallel worlds for her protagonists to inhabit.
